ISO 55001:2024 Asset Management System (AMS) Auditor Training Course

This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to audit an Asset Management System (AMS) against ISO 55001:2024 in accordance with ISO 19011.

Course Details

The ISO 55001:2024 Asset Management System Auditor training course provides the knowledge and skills required to perform first & second party audits of AMS against ISO 55001:2024, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, as applicable. The updated standard strengthens requirements on asset management decision-making, strategic asset management planning, data and information, knowledge, and predictive action, and these elements are embedded throughout the course content to prepare auditors for the 2024 edition requirements.

The course uses discussions, exercises and case studies so that participants can consolidate their understanding and gain hands-on experience needed for effective AMS audits and asset management governance in line with ISO 55001:2024. Participants who pass the continuous assessment and the examination will be awarded a Certificate.

To accommodate your individual learning preferences and requirements, this course is offered in two formats: Classroom-Based or Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT). Depending on your chosen format, the course can be conducted over 5 days totaling 40 hours, or it can be delivered in shorter online sessions. The course culminates with an examination.

Prerequisites

Before starting this course, you are expected to have the following prior knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the following asset management principles and concepts:
    • The relationship between asset management, organizational objectives, long-term value creation and stakeholder needs.
    • Commonly used asset management terms and definitions and the fundamental concepts in ISO 55000, including value, alignment, leadership and assurance.
    • The asset management framework and the process approach used in management systems, including application of the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle.
    • The model of a process-based Asset Management System, including the structure and content of ISO 55001:2024 (harmonized structure, clauses 4 to 10).
    • Basic understanding of asset-related risks and opportunities, life cycle management, and how sustainability and climate considerations can affect assets and asset management decisions.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 55001:2024.
